Ministering To The Lost

What does ministering to the lost look like?  All I can say is Thank you God for another glorious day at Faith Alive Christian Church with our outreach family. It just keeps getting bigger and  it seems more volunteers show up to each event. There was a huge clothing giveaway and a tasty BBQ.  There were a ton of sandwiches from Highways Biways and the desert table was full. Once again we had an amazing time.  Thank you everyone for allowing use to be part of this. Welcome to The Open Door and The Way Ministries to their outreach and the race car crew and their family.  Also a huge thank you to everyone who dropped of donations. We appreciate your support so much.

Posting flyers on poles and talking to my homeless friends gives me a certain peace. Some can’t communicate for one reason or another (mental illness, drugs, fear) but I know they all need help.

Rebecca is mad at herself for being a mess and homeless. Has seven kids CPS took away and it kills her that they call someone else mom. I asked her to come tomorrow and I would direct her to some women who may be able to help her.

I keep telling Izzy I’m waiting for him to accept Gods Grace and come live an Eternal Life with Jesus. He wanted to know if I was a vision or real because in his life he sometimes can’t tell. Asked me if his life would get better if he came to Jesus. I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to tell him how mine has changed. Hope he didn’t regret asking.  Thank you Jesus. So amazing looking back over last couple months. Building community through Unity. When Faith Alive Christian Church and Highways Biways Street Outreach came together a couple of months ago, I don’t think any of us knew exactly how it was going to turn out.

Well, I don’t think any of us imagined how this union was going to affect our lives and the lives of so many we reach out to. An amazing team of altruistic Jesus loving believers was the result. I for one look forward to our community outreach and seeing all the now familiar faces. When I walk the neighborhood now telling people about our events I’m greeted with smiles from those who don’t have much to smile about. They are so grateful to have people care about them and not be judged for a couple of hours.
Take a minute and look closely at these pictures and you will see three things for sure among others.

1. Happy Children (if just for a while)
2. Selfless Volunteers
3. The Presence of Our Lord Jesus -Thank you!

At the end of life we will not be judged by how many diplomas we have received, how much money we have made, how many great things we have done.

We will be judged by “I was hungry, and you gave me something to eat, I was naked and you clothed me. I was homeless, and you took me in.
