When the robber finally retrieved the knife from me, he swung me around to the front of him and put the knife to my throat.
The robber ended up taking me to the area he was hiding. As we walked to that area I started thinking about what he planned on doing. I started thinking about what was around to protect myself, there was nothing, not even cleaning products, the bathroom door didn’t even have a locking mechanism on it. We ended up in the bathroom where he told me to sit down (on the toilet). He said stay in the bathroom and do not come out.
The light and exhaust fan in the bathroom remained on. I could hear him rustling through our ingredient bins. As I sat on the toilet waiting for what may be next I remembered that my grandma had given me her wedding band the day before. The robber had my purse.
As I remained in the bathroom I heard the phone ring. There was silence.
Awaiting The Unknown
I thought to myself, I am leaving this bathroom! I opened the door not knowing what was going to happen next.
I saw the knife laying on the ground near the bathroom door.
I felt like the coast was clear so, I ran out the bathroom/office area to close the back door of the bakery. I ran through the bakery looking for him, making sure he wasn’t there still.
I then ran to the phone and called 911. As, I was speaking to 911, I heard a gun fire. I guess the man who tried robbing me, attempted to rob the gas station across the street.
The police eventually showed up and took a report and they attempted to get fingerprints.
